"Escape from SF"-2014, Something by Someone's first gallery effort is an homage to SF art culture, obsolescence, and excess.  San Francisco's hyper-gentrification precipitated the dispersion of the art community and forced reflection on the survivors.  We wanted to address the nature of consumption and commodification as it relates to artistic expression while exploring escapism and surrealism through interior design.

The majority of the pieces are digital manipulation and collage in the form of large woven tapestries using jacquard loom technology.  The translation of the digital work into fabric enhances the sense of nostalgia which is a recurring theme, and creates a cognitive dissonance between the content and medium.

Covering a wide range of sociopolitical issues and local events such as the apprehension of Silk Road founder at Glen Park Branch Library, Robin William's death, immigration, digital currency, memes, climate change, and Internet.

Intended to overstimulate and relax the viewer simultaneously through forced perspective leaving them with both the desire and means to escape.
